This is an online database of images that replicate the card catalogues of the Stadtbibliothek Nuremberg. The database contains a separate image for each catalogue card, about 500.000 images in all. The card files are the only finding aid for titles from roughly 1501 to 1973, including the extensive collections on literature about Nuremberg. Until 2006 the card catalogues were only available in the Stadtbibliothek Nürnberg; their digitalization now provides the possibility to do research anywhere at any time.
The card images are in the same order as the cards are filed in the catalogue drawers.
Please enter a search string to go to the guide card nearest the search string. Alternatively you may click an entry closest to the search string in the index. Starting with the guide card displayed it is possible to browse through a set of images by using the buttons below the image. You may move backwards or forwards one card or skip ahead or back 5, 10 or 25 cards.
Each image is provided in two resolutions; by clicking on an image you will get the higher resolution.
CIPAC Stack Order
If you are a registered user, you may order items listed in the CIPAC online. Normally the items will be delivered until 03.00pm of the next working day. You will be informed about the status of your request in your user account (click on "Benutzerkonto"). The items will be kept at reserves for fourteen days for loan or have to be consulted in the reading room during our opening hours. This service is free of charge.
